Miss Kenya USA 2006

"My life has changed so much and my words come across as an understatement..."
Since crowning for Miss Kenya, Eunice Karanja ( Tshyro) has gone through a tremendous change in her careers. In May 2006 she became the official Miss Kenya USA. Crowning has come along with various duties although Eunice has been in college most of her running year she has manged to accomplish quite a lot.

Ms. Karanja was a guest of the first Miss Kenya Preliminary in Boston, Massachusetts where she not only mentored the beautiful ladies but she hosted the show. Later that night she celebrated her birthday with mostly new friends she had made during the time she was there. Our lady has been representing Kenya in many other projects such as the Miss Africa USA Pageant that was held in Atlanta, Georgia on October 20th.

Among the competitors there were 21 countries represented at the pageant and our beauty queen brought home 2nd Runner up tiara with her. During the pageant, her platform issue was Health care crisis in Africa. This topic is a very near and dear to her heart for which she is pursuing in college. She then returned to college to finish her college degree in Nursing. On December 16, Miss Kenya USA-Eunice graduated from nursing school at the University Of Texas- Brownsville.

Over the Christmas and New Year holidays she spent her time working with a Cameroon Film Production company and she was supporting actress in the upcoming movie Dream Queens. The film premieres in selected cities beginning in April. More details on the movie should be coming soon. Since then it's been back to scool as she is pursuing her masters degree in Nursing, which she hopes to transfer to UTMB-Galveston by mid this year to complete her studies. Having come this far and aspiring to do more she is determined to make a difference in our nation and other countries in our motherland Africa.

On January 18, Ms. Karanja represented Kenya at the African Nations Awards held in Washing DC. She was among the company of the current Miss Africa USA pageant winner- Ms. Teizue for Cameroon and the CEO of Miss Africa USA- Lady Kate Njeuma. During the event she met and interviewed with African Nation TV and also met with the Ambassador of Kenyan Embassy to the US.

Miss Kenya USA- Eunice is currently working on a street children project in association with Jamhuri magazine as well as YOU Inc. a corporation based in Boston.

This refined young woman has become a role model to many young women and she keeps proving that anything is possible as long as one has the zeal and determination for their ambitions.

About her future goals, she hopes to pursue healthcare and work with organisations such as operation smile, street children, women and children rights in african countries and someday do inspiring movies. She is a humble, smart and witty, ambitious young woman who is full of life and has love for all. She's one lady that stops at nothing, her determination is admirable and we all wish her nothing but the best.
